Stargaze: Staking Guide

Stargaze is a proof-of-stake blockchain within the Cosmos SDK. Stargaze is an NFT marketplace on cosmos and currently has a staking APR of ~120%.

You can stake Stargaze using the Keplr wallet. The Keplr wallet is non-custodial, and requires the user to keep track of their own mnemonic phrase, and password. To learn more about custody and best practices, check out our “What is Custody?” video. 

If you are setting up a new Keplr wallet, ensure that you backup your mnemonic recovery phrase. If you lose the mnemonic recovery phrase, you will lose access to recovering your funds.

Ready to Stake? Here’s what you need to know:

Key Staking Considerations:

• Rewards are distributed automatically every block
• Tokens are locked during the staking period
• A new delegation is required for compounding rewards

Step 1: Acquire Stargaze through Osmosis Zone 

To acquire STARS tokens, swap for them on Osmosis Zone. 

Confirm the transaction to receive STARS tokens.

Step 2: Withdraw the STARS from Osmosis onto Keplr Wallet 

Under “Aseets” in Osmosis Zone, scroll down to Stargaze $STARS and click “Withdraw”

Confirm the transaction, and then the STARS will appear in your Keplr wallet.

Step 3: Stake STARS Tokens 

Once you have funded your Keplr wallet with STARS, visit https://stake.stargaze.zone/stake to begin the staking process.

Step 4: Delegate STARS tokens

Figment Validator Address: starsvaloper13htkxk8nw6qwhfdugllp8ldtgt5nm80xf679h5

Find the Figment validator, and select “Delegate”

Step 5: Complete the Staking process 

Select the amount of STARS you wish to delegate, click “Delegate” and approve the transaction

Step 6: Receive Rewards over time 

Once the transaction confirms, congratulations! You have successfully staked $STARS tokens to the Figment validator. Rewards will accrue over time. View the Staking Dashboard here: https://stake.stargaze.zone/
